Meet the band

William Caudill -  guitar & vocals 

William Caudill has been picking and singing for over 35 years.  He is a dynamic bluegrass performer who can sing both the traditional bluegrass and the new.  He learned to play guitar when he was six years old.  William also plays in a gospel band in Letcher County called The Traditional Gospel Singers.  William works for the Letcher County Board of Education.  In his spare time, he enjoys music and collecting records, CDs, and old movies. 

 

Darlene Brock - Vocals 

Darlene loves to sing bluegrass music.  She lives at Bledsoe with her son, Justin.  She is principal at Green HIlls Elementary School.  In her spare time, she enjoys cross stitching, quilting, scrapbooking, and gardening.   

Carl Vanover - Banjo

Carl is a great banjo player.  He is a founding member of the bands, Overdrive and Spare Change.  He and his wife, Sherry, live in Corbin, KY. 

lonnie burkhart - guitar 

Lonnie plays rhythm and lead guitar.  He has also played with other local bands.  He supports bluegrass in Harlan County through the Bluegrass Concert Series and the Going Back to Harlan bluegrass Festival sponsored by the KY Vocational and Technical College and the Harlan Rotary Club.  He lives in Loyall, KY with his wife, Trish, a teacher a the Harlan Independent School and their children.  Lonnie is co-owner of Alliance Insurance Agency in Harlan.  He is a 2nd-degree black belt in karate.  In his spare time, he likes to hunt and play music.

Philip Hurt - Mandolin

jerry haynes - bass 

Jerry is a great bassist.  He became interested in playing bass during weekly jam sessions hosted by Jerry and Donna Blanton.  In no time, he has become a great musician.  He plays mandolin as well.  He lives in Harlan with his wife Teresa, an Office Manager at Don's Super Saver.  They have two daughters, Jennifer and Jessica.  Jerry is a former coal miner and is a mandolin luthier. Members of the band own and play his mandolins, and several other bluegrassers are taking notice of the beauty and great sound his mandolins produce.  See his web page.  In his spare time, Jerry likes to do woodworking.
